Atheism

So basically I am an Atheist and so is my wife. We don't believe in an after-life. We don't believe in any grand purpose for anything. I think it helps the relationship by agreeing on the big issues. Anyways. Both of our family are Christian of one sect or another. Basically, we keep it a low key because we don't want to risk getting shunned at family events. We basically pretend were Christians. It's pretty easy to fake if you've grown up in a Christian household. It gets to me though especially at Christmas time. I don't like living a lie but not really sure what else to do. Both of our parents basically had the same reaction of "No your not. You're just confused." It's probably nowhere on the same level but it has to have some similarities to telling your family your gay. Anybody else an Atheist and just not talk about it with your families? Any advice?
